Chris J. Daras of Basking Ridge died on Feb. 9 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. He was 58. Daras was born and raised on Staten Island, NY, and later lived in East Brunswick and settled in Basking Ridge in 1980. He earned a degree from Jacksonville University in Florida and worked as a stockbroker for Morgan Stanley in Somerville before starting his own firm, Daras Capital Management, in Basking Ridge in 2003. He had also owned The Pet Stop in Lyons Mall in Basking Ridge for seven years. Daras was a parishioner of St. James Church in Basking Ridge and a member and past president of Le Tip Business Club's Chester chapter. He enjoyed golf, fishing, the shore, and growing bonsai trees. A Funeral Mass will be on Feb. 13 at 11:30am at St. James Church in Basking Ridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chris J. Daras Memorial Trust Fund, 65 S.
