Wanted to know if others knew that the cable company while now allowing me to watch tv on iPads and iphones recently disabled most of the tv's in my house because they now require a box.
Why is this?
Googled this and found....

Not sure why EVERY TV has to have a box.
Someone tell me.

MULTIPLE Cablevision bills and letters sent to 'our' area cable customers detailed that on August 7, 2012 they were going to turn off the analog signal and tvs with all packages would require boxes to get digital channel reception. Just so happened they turned off the analog signal last week.

Apologies - I wasn't questioning that they were going to turn off the signal. The point is they're using it to make you get a box for every TV in your house and it doesn't have to be that way. So if I have 10 TV's in the house, I need 10 boxes x $6 per month or another $720 per year per household. EVERYBODY LIKE THAT?

Besides making you buy a box for each TV, it also makes your VCR and DVD recording machines with the "old" analog tuners useless except to watch old tapes or DVDs.
