Steve Cozine, 44, of Basking Ridge competed and finished first overall at One More Tri, a triathlon/duathlon/aquavelo fundraiser for Special Olympics New Jersey held last Sunday in Asbury Park.

Cozine was the only finisher to come in under one hour in the full triathlon, which consisted of a 0.25-mile ocean swim, followed by a 12-mile bike and then a three-mile run. His finish time was 59:09.0, according to an announcement from Special Olympics.

Funds raised at One More Tri benefit Special Olympics New Jersey, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in 24 Olympic-type sports for more than 22,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, the announcement said.

All programs are offered free of charge, providing athletes with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

One More Tri was sanctioned by USA Triathlon and hosted by Asbury Park-based Eneractive Solutions. For more information, visit www.sonj.org or call 609.896.8000.
