Basking Ridge Resident Newest VP at Horizon BCBSNJ
Douglas Falduto appointed to new position this month.
Douglas E. Falduto of Basking Ridge, chief security officer at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, has been appointed to the newly-created position of Vice President, Administration and Chief Security Officer, effective January 14, HBCBSNJ has announced.
In this new role, Falduto will assume leadership of the company’s Risk Management, Real Estate and Administration Operation, the company said in an announcement. He also will maintain current responsibilities for Horizon BCBSNJ’s Special Investigations Unit, Business Continuity, and the company’s Information and Corporate Security programs.
He will be based in Newark, according to the company. Falduto and his wife, Megan, and their three children live in Basking Ridge.
Since first joining Horizon BCBSNJ in 1987 as an Underwriting Specialist, Falduto has been promoted to the positions of Investigations Manager, Director of Investigations, Director of Investigations and Security and most recently in 2011, as Chief Security Officer.

Falduto also currently serves on the New Jersey Insurance Commissioner’s Fraud Advisory Board and is a member of the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Preparedness subcommittee, representing the health insurance industry. He is also a member of the American Society of Industrial Security CSO Executive Roundtable and is a member of the Governing Body for the CISO Executive Summit for New York and New Jersey.
Falduto has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association and as the Chairman of the New Jersey Health Care Fraud Workgroup, which reported to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business management and economics from St. Peter’s University in New Jersey and a master’s degree in public administration specializing in criminal justice from Seton Hall University, according to HBCBSNJ.
