Bernards Mountaineers Head Football Coach Jon Simoneau and the team's players discuss how they reached this year's undefeated record, with the spotlight on some of the team's lineup.

With last Friday's overwhelming victory over New Providence, another undefeated team, the Bernards High football team is deep into its 2012 season with a 5-0 record.

Patch talked to Coach Jon Simoneau and some of the players about the Mountaineers' success, last year's season, and where they're heaing this year.

The video was made right before Friday's home matchup against New Providence, when the Mountaineers dominated throughout the game. The team held a 27-point lead by halftime on its way to a final score of 42-3.

The latest game illustrated Simoneau's point that the Friday night football at Bernards now is drawing a crowd and plenty of enthusiasm by fans of all ages.

Friday's game also was "pink out" night, in which fans were invited to wear all shades and styles of pink to recognize breast cancer awareness — and they did.
