Bernardsville's Art Walk Draws Crowd

Art Walk held on first Fridays during many months was also the occasion of the grand reopening of WallFlowers Gallery in new location.

During last Friday's Art Walk in Bernardsville, June Shatken, an artist from the Brookside section of Mendham Township, displayed her vibrant pieces at The House of Jawi, at 5 Olcott Square in the alleyway by Bernardsville's Clearview 3 Theater. The shop displays art along with attire, many other home accessories, jewelry and other items.

On the first Friday of the month, several times a year, art galleries and other shops around downtown Bernardsville throw open their doors and invite in the public to enjoy arts, crafts and other accessories — and also refreshments, frequently wine, and lots of conversations.

This past Friday was one of those times, with art lovers filling participating galleries and shops between around 6 to 9 p.m.

This particular Art Walk also was the grand re-opening of the WallFlowers Gallery, which had moved to a new and larger space at 35 Mill Street.

With the weather still nice and the Art Walks a regular addition to the downtown scene for a few years now, a steady crowd filled such participating locales as Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery at 5 Morristown Road, just north of Olcott Square.
