Fenton Shutout Leads Ridge Past Hillsborough

The Ridge High School ice hockey team rolled past Hillsborough 5-0 Saturday night at the Bridgewater Sports Arena.

IN SHORT

The Devils started the game quickly when Matt Zarabarra converted an Oliver Pelosa pass into a goal just 43 seconds into the game.  Ryan Klingert scored a short-handed goal and Keith Knapp added another goal in the first period.  Late in the second period, Ridge was down with two players in the penalty box, but was able to kill the penalties.

DEVIL OF THE GAME

Rob Fenton, goaltender—Fenton posted his second shutout in as many games with 22 saves.

KEY PERFORMANCES

Oliver Peloso (Ridge)—Peloso assisted on the first and scored the last goals in the game; Matt Zarabarra (Ridge)—Zarrabarra scored the game's first goal just 43 seconds into the game and added an assist in the second period.

"When your goalie gets a shutout, you can't lose. We beat Montgomery last night 3-0 and I wasn't sure how the team would respond. After you have a big win, sometimes it is hard to comeback the next night.  We played good tonight."—Ridge head coach Tim Mullin Sr.
