An 6-foot Valentine bear was covered with a veil of snow Friday evening at his spot along Route 206 in Bridgewater.

Slippery roads welcomed the few cars that traveled the roads of Somerset County Friday evening during the first big snowfall of the season.

Forecasters were predicting up to 10 inches of snow from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning, and recommended that drivers stay off the roads because of icy conditions.

Evening activities were cancelled as the storm picked up pace in the evening.

Please. Clean off your vehicle before you drive. It's the law!
