It's an argument that's been boiling over since 1976–or, at least since the Giants started winning Super Bowls.
Where to hold the victory parade? The Canyon of Heroes, as is the traditional place a New York-based sporting team takes its victory lap (the G-Men are set to walk down at 11 a.m. Tuesday), or in New Jersey, where the newly-crowned Super Bowl champion team has actually been located for 36 years? It's hotly-debated, so much so Gov. Chris Christie has been calling them the "New Jersey" Giants.
What do you think? Should it be exclusively in New Jersey? New York? Or, can football fans from both sides of the border agree that the Giants are both states' teams? Chime in below.

If I remember correctly, the last Super Bowl win was celebrated with both a parade in NYC and a rally at Giants Stadium. I don't see why it should be any different this time.

Let's see...the Giants practice in Jersey, they are the "home team" in a Jersey stadium, and many of the players live in Jersey. Hmmm!

I'm a life long Giants fan and a NJ resident, but let's get real - until NJ has a decent place to hold a parade, then everyone should stop griping. I remember the Giants' two earliest SuperBowl victories in '87 and '91, when the victory parade was held in the parking lot at the Meadowlands. How embarassing was that folks? An asphalt parking lot in the middle of a swamp? Is that the best NJ can do? Unfortunately when your biggest city is Newark, there aren't a lot of good choices. The Giants represent the NY metro area - the parade needs to be in the core of that metro area - in the Canyon of Heroes - and not a parking lot. A rally at MetLife stadium would also be appropriate, as was done last time.

There is nothing to compare to a ticker tape parade thru the Canyon of Heroes. NJ gets most of the economic benefit of the Giants and NY has to pay for the parade. What's wrong with that?

Let me start out by saying that I am all in favor of celebrating the Giants' victory. Tremendous job. Having said that, two factors argue for having the parade in New York City. First, there really is no venue in New Jersey that can compete with lower Broadway in terms of impact and history. Second, the cost of cleaning up after a ticker-tape parade is enormous. We have the stadium. Let New York have the parade, and the associated costs.

I went to the parade, hopped on the train, then back to Giants Stadium (yes, I will not call it the name of the insurance company!) There is no place in NJ that can compare to having a ticker tape parade in NYC....where would we do it on North Beverwyck Rd? Get real.
