Editor's Note: The following is an announcement from the Notables Singers, a Basking Ridge-based group of singers who perform American classic tunes in a variety of venues, primarily in Somerset and Morris counties. The singers rehearse weekly from September through June at Ridge Oak Senior Housing in Basking Ridge.

Dear Editor:

This is to inform you that two New Jersey high school seniors – Isabel C. Rogers from Morristown High School and Michelle Bonzani from Point Pleasant Borough High School – have been selected as recipients of the 2012 Notables Singers Scholarships. Both plan to continue their musical studies in college this September.

Bonzani will be attending William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J., and Rogers will be attending Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

Rogers plans to use her knowledge of singing and leadership skills to major in performance and business. Bonzani aspires to apply her musical talent to vocal performance.

The two received their awards on June 18 at Ridge Oak Senior Housing in Basking Ridge, in conjunction with Notables’ performance for the residents.

For the fourth year now, we are so pleased to present our annual scholarships and this year to these two very talented young women,” says Ellen Heffes, of Basking Ridge, founder and director of Notables. The group, which was formed in 2004, is comprised of about 15 women who sing America’s Favorite Music in sounds in Broadway, jazz and pop and who perform at a variety of venues primarily in Morris and Somerset counties.

For the forth time, we are grateful to the community for supporting our work to help raise funds to allow the presentation of the awards again this year and expect our program to grow. The Notables choose to present the awards at Ridge Oak since the singers rehearse each week from September to June in the community room at the senior housing development in Basking Ridge.

Notables Singers, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization comprised of volunteer singers that perform America’s Favorite Music in sounds in Broadway, jazz and pop for audiences primarily in central New Jersey – Morris and Somerset counties. The group is led by a professional director, Barbara Cornelia, of Mount Arlington, who was trained at the Julliard School, and accompanied by talented pianist Roberta Smith, of Plainfield.

See the website at www.NotablesSingers.org for information on the scholarship program, bookings and group and performance schedules. The group is now actively seeking additional singers, so women with some vocal ability and interest should contact Notables at 973.216.4911.
