Local Chiropractor's Final Video Footage of Olympics
Basking Ridge resident Fred Rossi blogs on video as he leaves Heathrow Airport.
Local chiropractor Dr. Fred Rossi, who accompanied the U.S. freestyle men's wrestling team to London and provided spinal adjustments for the team — which came home with two gold medals and other achievements — has topped off his Olympics blog with a video produced before he boarded the plane to return home to New Jersey.
Rossi, who lives in Basking Ridge with his wife and two children and has two offices, in Long Hill Township and Phillipsburg, was with the wrestling team for the duration of their competition. He filed blogs that were followed on the Basking Ridge Patch as he chronicled his time with the team.
His latest addition also included photos from a jubilant end-of-event bash that he said he and some of the team members found more celebratory even than the official closing ceremony for the London Summer Olympics.
On his blog, Rossi also recounted how he had carried along a wrestling singlet owned by a student wrestler at Watchung Hills Regional High School, Max Meyers, to be signed by or passed along to show such Olympic wrestlers as Jared Frayer and Sam Hazewinkel.
He said he returned home to return an email thanking him from Mark Meyers, Max's father.
"Thanks again for getting Max's singlet signed. It is a big deal for a high school wrestler to have a singlet signed by two Olympians and we greatly appreciate that. Can you please send the files for the pic with you and Sam Hazewinkel, Jared Frayer signing it, and you and Max?"
Rossi said he would like to return to keep in shape the U.S. wrestlers at the next summer Olympics scheduled for Rio de Janiero in 2016.
