Even in the middle of summer, the real estate market remained active, with dozens of open houses scheduled for Sunday. And no wonder — houses have been selling, moving listings into sales, and mortgage rates keep dipping ever lower.
As of the middle of last week, on July 31, Zillow(R) Mortgage Marketplace reported that the 30-year fixed mortgage rate was 3.34 percent, down
one basis point from 3.35 percent at the same time the previous week. That rate represents the lowest rate reported since Zillow Mortgage Marketplace
launched in April 2008, Zillow said in a news release.
