New Science and Tech Supervisor in Bernards Schools

A new science and technology supervisor for all township schools, Matthew Hall, has been hired by the Board of Education following the the rearrangement of school administrators that began with the announcement that Mount Prospect School Principal Judith Slutzky is retiring as of Jan. 31.
Hall, hired at Monday night's school board meeting, will take the position of Brian Heineman, who held the position for nine years. Heineman was given approval at a previous board meeting to switch to the position of assistant principal at the William Annin Middle School effective Feb. 4.
Hall's starting date has yet to be determined. He currently holds a similar position for the Readington schools district in Hunterdon County.
"I am excited to join the administrative team," he said on Monday. After the meeting, he said he might like to bring Readington's annual "invention convention" to Bernards Township schools.
Hall was hired in Bernards Township at a salary of $114,643.
Heineman's position became vacant with his planned move to become one of two vice-principals at the middle school, replacing Paul Ciempola.
Ciempola is moving from the middle school position to become the vice-principal at the Mount Prospect Elementary School when that school's current vice-principal, Joanne Hozeny, moves up to become principal at that school at the end of this month.
Slutzky had announced in 2012 that she would retire at the end of January.
