When/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Art on Burnt Mills Road in Bedminster.
Why Go: This exhibit will present romantic realism works as curated by New Jersey painter Mel Leipzig, with the works of Daniel Finaldi, Linda Pochesci and Kyle Stevenson.
9th Annual Bernards High School Ski Racing Team Wine and Food Tasting Event
When/Where: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on Church Street in Liberty Corner Village in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Because the ski team is raising funds, with rock and roll band Psycho-Delics, a wine tasting and more.
Cost: $65 in advance, or $75 at the door.
Ridge Advanced Placement Student Art Show at Environmental Education Center
When/Where: Daily during regular hours at the Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge. Reception planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Why Go: This year, for the fourth year of the show, the AP studio artists from Ridge High School are portraying geckos in "The Order of Squamata from the Animalia Kingdom." Look for a six-foot sculpture due to arrive soon!
Purnell School Winter Open House
When/Where: Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Purnell School on Pottersville Road.
Why Go: The winter open house is for prospective students, and will include a tour of the facility and meetings with faculty and other students.
Pingry School’s Summer Day Camp Open House
When/Where: Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Pingry School on Martinsville Road in Bernards Township.
Why Go: The school will be showing off the aspects of its Big Blue Summer Camp Experience, with camp activities like sand art, intramural games and a scavenger hunt, plus a tour of the campus.
JCC Purim Carnival
When/Where: Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater.
Why Go: The JCC will be holding its annual carnival to celebrate the holiday of Purim, with an inflatable mountain climber, pony rides, a baseball speed pitch, games, food and much more.
