The Hillsborough and Pingry boys soccer teams played to a 1-1 tie in the Somerset County Tournament championship Saturday in Manville.

"With all due respect to Pingry, we came here to win," Hillsborough coach Eric Puma said.

But after Hillsborough took the lead in the 37th minute of the first half, Pingry netted the game-tying score in the 25th minute of the second half.

Pingry (13-1-4) 0 1 0 0 1

Much of the possession time gave an edge to Pingry, but it was Hillsborough forward Danny Pankulics that scored the first goal of the game at the 37-minute mark. It wasn't until the 25th minute of the second half that Pingry posted the tying goal from midfielder Christian Fechter.

The teams played two overtimes with each having opportunities to win the game, but to no avail.

Fechter and Pankulics were named MVP for the tournament.
