IN SHORT
The Red Devils found themselves in an early hole as they ended the first half already down 2-0. After the Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead early the second half, it looked as if Bridgewater-Raritan would cruise to an easy victory. However, the resilient Red Devils cut the lead to one after Tommy Haskell put in two second half goals. With the momentum shifting, Ridge looked as if they were going to tie the game in the final minutes, but ran out of time.
RED DEVIL OF THE GAME
Tommy Haskell — The senior midfielder had two impressive goals in the second half to bring Ridge within one goal. Both goals were chipped and perfectly placed over Bridgewater goalie Amit Mohan.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES
Kieran McCarthy — The junior goalie played a solid game in goal for the Red Devils despite surrendering three goals. He kept Ridge in the game with six saves.
COACH’S TAKE
“It’s tough being down 3-0, obviously. Any team can get disheartened by that but I was proud of our response to get two in the second half and pressure for a third. It just shows that when you don’t start off well it can really come back to bite you.” — Assistant Coach Enzo Minicozzi
THEY SAID IT
“This team has been resilient all year. Every game that we have been in all year no matter the score we have never given up. Quit isn’t a word that they know.” — Minicozzi
