IN SHORT

The boys fencing team faced previously undefeated Hunterdon Central and came away winners. Notable winners were Mitchell Henthorn on sabre (3-0), and Matthew Yin (2-0) and captain Connor Pelos (2-0), both on epee. The Ridge girls were a depleted squad due to fencers competing in other meets. Winners for the girls team on epee were Rita Bianchi, Amanda Choy and Anita Harrington, all 2-1.

THEY SAID IT

"It was a great match. We had a good time. We fenced well overall as a team." — Ridge boys captain Connor Pelos

"Are team was missing some of our best fencers while they compete elsewhere.  This gave a good chance of some others to compete." — Ridge head girls coach Anastasia Ferdman

UP NEXT — Ridge will host Somerville High School at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
