IN SHORT

In the fourth quarter, Ridge senior defensive tackle Alex Connery stripped the ball from the Kearny running back and took the ball 45 yards for his first career touchdown.

"I have only touched to ball twice, but I always wanted to score a TD," Connery said. "What a way to end senior year."

Ridge was solid throughout the game on both sides of the ball and worked the ball in the air and on the ground with little trouble. It was senior night for touchdowns, with all the Ridge scoring coming from seven different senior players. To add to Alex Connery's defensive TD, JD Moore, Rob Mullaney, Tim Falato and Paul DeMarco each added one. Mike Hilss scored two touchdowns on the night and kicker Johnny Graves added his own six points in the form of extra points.

THEY SAID IT

"I am just real proud of the kids. They did a great job all week; they did a great job all season. Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it. We had a lot of adversity this season, but the staff and the kids had a great attitude every day.   We stuck together and never gave up. And as a result, in our last five games, we were competitive in four of them, we won two of them and could have won the third. I am real proud of that. I think they finished strong and that is not an easy thing to do."–Ridge coach Bill Tracy
