Nine freshmen and sophomore fencers from the Ridge High School fencing team came away with medals from the Skylands Conference Tournament held last weekend at Voorhees High School in Hunterdon County.
All nine fencers received medals for reaching the final round (among six fencers) in each of their weapons and grade school categories, according to Robert Pelos, president of the Ridge High Fencing Association.
Three of the fencers left the tournament with gold medals, including Amy Tong, Jake Lee, and Amanda Choy.
