Ridge Represents at Meet of Champions

Gibbons finishes fourth; Girls take home sixth place finish.

An impressive day at the Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park saw the Ridge girls cross country team earn its sixth straight top-six finish, while boys runner Tyler Gibbons took home a fourth place overall finish, according to NJ.com.

Gibbons, a senior at Ridge, elevated his game on Saturday to place fourth overall at the M of C with a time of 15:33, good enough for No. 3 all time in Somerset County history.

Despite a 166-point performance helping the Ridge girls earn a sixth place finish, no runners finished in the top 20 at Holmdel.

Christian Brothers Academy took home the team title on Saturday, putting together a 45-point performance, while Piscataway’s Tim Ball (15:31) finished No. 1 in the individual standings.

Rumson (126 points) ran to the girls team title, and Holly Bischof of Bishop Eustace earned a first place finish with a time of 18:13.
