The Somerset County Senior Wellness Center hosted its New Year's Eve celebration a day early for senior citizens in Bernards Township and nearby communities. This year's festivities, attended by 28 people, are an annual event at the center on Mt. Airy Road.

Friday’s celebration included luncheon, music and a pick-a-gift game where participants were given a ticket with a number. As each number was called, the person holding that ticket would come up and choose a gift, with the option to choose either an unopened gift or one that had been previously opened by another person. Gifts included reindeer dolls, holiday pillows, plates, knick-knack holders, photo frames, albums and a teddy bear that exchanged hands several times.
