Sit Back and Laugh–The Elks Lodge on Union Avenue in Bridgewater will be hosting a comedy night on Friday from 7 to 11. The show will be put on by CASA SHaW, a local charity. The night will go toward supporting its mission of providing children in foster care with volunteer advocates in court. Admission of $50 includes dinner and a show with a cash bar. Watch the Area's Best Track-The Skyland Conference will be holding its championship at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., this Saturday. Teams from around the area, including from Ridge High School, will be competing for top honors. The event starts at 8 a.m. and should end between noon and 1 p.m.
An Acrobatic Display–The Golden Dragon Acrobats will bring its show to the Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg on Friday. The show by the touring company will begin at 7 p.m., and the event listing promises a combination of award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music, and theatrical techniques. Get Into The Social Network–The Bridgewater Township Library will be presenting "The Social Network," one of the most talked about movies released last year, on Friday at 7 p.m. The Movie is rated PG-13 and all adults are invited to attend. It's Quite a Treasure–Triology Repertory Theater's production of the classic, "Treasure Island," to be held three times at the Bernards Township Library on Saturday. Showings: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., 1 to 1:45 p.m, 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. An interactive children’s program presented by the Trilogy Repertory Company. Recommended for children ages 4 to 10.
