The award winning Ridge High School Marching Band will demonstrate this Saturday that musicians can wash cars as well as they can perform a great version of a tune on their instruments, and on the field.
The band holds its annual Car Wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. this Saturday at Ridge High School. Members of the band and their parents will provide a sparkling hand-washing of your cars for a donation.
The car wash takes place rain or shine! Ridge High School is located on South Finley Avenue in Basking Ridge. Reservations are not necessary! Donations support the band’s many activities, including instructors, uniforms, costumes, and transportation to five competitions throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
This weekend also includes many 9/11 observances in the area, including the Liberty Corner Fire Company's dedication of a memorial to firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. Mayor John Malay is scheduled to give the address.
The firefighters have been working on the memorial in front of the firehouse on Church Street, which includes a piece of metal from the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan. Fundraising bricks for the walkway also are still for sale.
There's also Family Fun Day at Fellowship Village on Saturday! Pony and train rides, craft and bake sales, free fun food, live music by the David Aaron Sextet, arcade games, face painting, balloon characters, caricatures, and arecade games are all on tap!
