2 Airlifted, Alcohol Possible Factor in I-78 Crash

Accident occurred on eastbound lanes in Bernards Township late Saturday night.

Alcohol may have been a factor in one-car crash that resulted in two people needing to be airlifted from the scene on Interstate 78 in Bernards Township late Saturday night, State Police said.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known Sunday morning.

According to State Police, the driver of the vehicle lost control in the left lane of eastbound lanes of the highway and struck the guardrail on the right side of the roadway at about 11:40 p.m. The car then came to a stop on the left side of the highway in the grass median, State Police said.

The two occupants were airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.

No further information was available Sunday morning.

If this guy was driving a small blue car, he blew past my wife around exit 24, changing lanes / all over the road. By the time she got to exit 33, people had stopped to pick up pieces. Moron.

I saw the same car zip into my rear view mirror and fly past me just as quickly as he came. Knew this was going to happen. He was slaloming on 78 at at least 110 - 120 mph.
