UPDATE: Ridge, Bernards Football Still Unbeaten

Red Devils and Mountaineers each post convincing shutouts to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Ridge High School's Red Devils football beat Linden on the road Friday night 23-0. Senior Evan Skea reportedly scored two of the game's touchdowns, and Mike Sibilia scored one.

The Bernards High Mountaineers also posted a 61-0 win over Manville, according to Coach Jon Simoneau.

Ridge scored a touchdown in the first and fourth quarters, and put up nine points in the second quarter, according to information from the Ridge Touchdown Club.

Evan Skea scored on a 64-yard catch from Conor Hughes, and a 7-yard run. Mike Sibilia scored on a 28-yard catch from Hughes.

The Red Devils had defeated rivals Immaculata High School last Friday in a home game that was filmed by MSG Varsity and later televised on Cablevision.

The team started with a strong 36-7 win over Montgomery High School.

The Bernards team also finished with two strong wins in their first two games — 49-14 against Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield for the season opener, and 41-14 against David Brearly High School in Kenilworth for a second victory last Friday, Simoneau said.
