"Inherit the Wind" will be staged at 8 p.m. this Friday and Saturday in the continuation of the free Plays in the Park series at the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge.

This play will be presented by the township-based Trilogy Repertory Company, which also staged six performances of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" during the last two weeks.

Other upcoming events are arts and crafts at the Pleasant Valley municipal pool on Monday and the Meet of Champions at the pool next Saturday. Both are open only for pool members. By the way, memberships for the pool are still available, according to the township website.

There are a number of other events coming up, too, as part of the township parks and recreation department's parks month. On Tuesday, at 7 p.m., Living Proof USA will perform at Pleasant Valley Park.

At 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, the Bernards Township Municipal Alliance will sponsor this week's free outdoor movie, "Thor," at Harry Dunham Park.

As far as official meetings this week, the township Pool Commission is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; the Township Committee has a meeting scheduled for 8 p.m. on Tuesday, both at the municipal complex.
