Source: Garden State Multiple Listing Service. Open houses scheduled so far for this Sunday in Bernards Township and Bernardsville.
If the bad weather arrives a little early this Sunday, consider it an opportunity.  House hunters can peek into corners and basements and under the roof in the attic in a house they might consider buying in damp weather to see just how that home might hold up in inclement weather if it was their own. This weekend, you might just get a chance to see how cheery and cozy that house also would be on a gray day. Would you like to come home to this place? Even with the leaves falling from the trees, there's still a fair number of real estate open houses scheduled for Sunday. Interest rates remain …
Even though it's just a few weekends before Thanksgiving, the open house schedule in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville remains fairly busy. The market is brisk, with interest rates still historically low. It's also a nice time to see homes in the full glory of fall, which may be the most attractive season in this area. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions. The market has continued to offer a wide range of housing into fall. There's a rare one-bath studio condo for sale for just over in Basking Ridge and some palatial four-bedroom homes at or above a $1 million asking price in the township. In Bernardsville, three homes listed to hold open houses this Sunday had asking prices of less than $1 million, not as usual in the borough. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions. Here is the list of scheduled…
Just when you think nterest rates might not be able to get any lower — rates dropped to just above 3 percent, according to Zillow, which tracks mortgage rates. Combine that with housing prices still below the peak of the real estate market, and you have an active market that has continued into the fall. This week's selection includes a fairly long list of 1 and 2-bedroom multifamily housing units in Basking Ridge, and one on Claremont Road in Bernardsville. From the photos of homes on the market, there would also seem to be some great kitchens in houses that have scheduled open houses for …
The feel of a nip in the air hasn't halted a continuation of a fairly active market and busy open house scheduled for this Sunday, even as the school year has started, and buyers may be looking ahead to holidays. One major spur to the market — mortgage rates remain low, with HSH.com reporting 30-year fixed mortgage rates still below 4 percent. This week, we are adding Bernardsville to our list of scheduled open houses. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates …
There are plenty of homes open for touring this Sunday as an active real estate market continues in Basking Ridge, including one listing that bumps up to an asking price of $3,950,000. The house, at 147 S. Finley Ave., is a custom-built 14-room home in downtown Basking Ridge. Of course, there are one-floor condos and a wide variety of other houses holding open houses this Sunday. This is the list of Sunday's open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions. If the last few quieter weekends lulled you into thinking that the market for local homes for sale was tapering off for the year, you'd be wrong. Even with homes being sold and coming off the market, evidentally more homes are coming up for sale, or are still active listings. This Sunday's open house schedule, on the first weekend after Labor Day, is as busy as on many spring weekends! This is the list of Sunday's open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions. This is a quiet time of year in many ways, but this Sunday these sellers are going to stick with their plan to market their homes with open houses. It's been an active selling season in the past several months, and many homes already have come off the market. Even with fewer houses scheduled that in spring and early summer, there still is a pretty good variety of homes to browse. This is the list of Sunday's open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions. The number of homes scheduled for open house tours this Sunday has tapered off a little as the last few weekends of summer arrive — but there still is a variety of style, price ranges and even vintages to inspect, from a classic older Colonial on Lyons Road to a brand new home still being built on Brook Ave. An article earlier this year on RealEstate.com indicates that the give and take between buyers and sellers seems to have "evened out" more than during the buyer's market of a number of years' duration. Either way, houses seem to be selling, if recent Sunday's active Sold! columns on the …
This week's schedule of open house tours for Sunday isn't quite as busy as on some previous weekends stretching back into spring. But even if the list seems a little shorter — vacation schedules finally kicking in? — the selection this week is notable for its variety, everything from a variety of townhouses to a five-bedroom home on Clairvaux which, according to the photo, has a rather distinctive bedroom. Other houses scheduled to be open for inspection also include a Cape Cod, a Colonial in The Hills and a couple of ranches. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden …
Even in the middle of summer, the real estate market remained active, with dozens of open houses scheduled for Sunday. And no wonder — houses have been selling, moving listings into sales, and mortgage rates keep dipping ever lower. As of the middle of last week, on July 31, Zillow(R) Mortgage Marketplace reported that the 30-year fixed mortgage rate was 3.34 percent, down one basis point from 3.35 percent at the same time the previous week. That rate represents the lowest rate reported since Zillow Mortgage Marketplace launched in April 2008, Zillow said in a news release. Here's this Sunday…
This week's selection of open houses scheduled for sunday, while still having something in many categories, includes a large number of Colonial-style homes in a variety of ages and price ranges. Overall, there are fewer homes open for touring this weekend than the busy spring market Paul Stillwaggon, of New Jersey Estates, Real Estate Group for Weichert Realtors in Watchung, asked if the diminishing inventory of homes on the market is a sign of a real estate recovery. He said some major markets even are shifting back to being a seller's market. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken …
This weekend's open house tours on Sunday highlight Bernards Township's many multi-family and attached housing options, with homes in Society Hill or The Hills, Spring Ridge or other large housing developments. Of course there also are a number of single-family homes for sale, in a variety of styles and sizes — and from multiple eras, whether a 1940s Cape Cod, or a Colonial dating back to circa 1900. The market in this area continues to remain fairly active even in the midst of summer, with houses continuing to go on — and to come off the market. Jim Weichert, president of Weichert Realtors, …
This week's list of open houses, scheduled for home tours on Sunday, does include some smaller condominiums and townhouses with two bedrooms or even one — but a lot of the homes open for looking this week are four bedrooms or larger, and a bit palatial. The market in this area continues to remain fairly active even in the lazy days of summer, with houses continuing to go on — and to come off the market. See our Sunday morning Sold! column to see the previous week's home sales prices, and how that compared with list prices. Of course, it would be impossible to discount that mortgage rates …
This Sunday's selection of homes holding open house tours range in size and price, as usual. But there seems to be an ample supply of homes to look at in the mid-sized range, most with 3 to 4 bedrooms, costing between $400,000 to $600,000. That's not always the case in Basking Ridge! However, there should be enough of a variety for many budgets, starting at just under $200,000, included in this week's open house schedule. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for …

For those who live in Basking Ridge for any length of time, conversations with their neighbors may clue them in that those residents may not so long before have lived elsewhere — that's elsewhere within Basking Ridge (Bernards Township). Some people seem to get tired of living in The Hills and look for a house "in the flats," as some call the lower elevations of Basking Ridge. Or others move to townhomes since they no longer want to care for a large, or even relatively large, property. The expansion or shrinkage of family size is an obvious reason to move. Or, of a change in budget. Meanwhile…
The number of real estate open houses scheduled for Sunday, at least on Friday night, was one of the lightest lists during the past month. But, even so, there was something for everyone on that list, at least for those who want to look at a particular style or price range. As is usual, there are town homes and single family homes, including a number of addresses in The Hills, the largest development in the township. Please let us know if there's an open house this weekend you think might be of interest to our readers, even if it's a For Sale by Owner home that you might want to add in the …
While not having as many homes listed for open house tours as some of the previous busy spring weekends, this Sunday's selection includes a wide variety for something that would appeal to multiple tastes — and budgets. Please let us know if there's an open house this weekend you think might be of interest to our readers. Here's this Sunday's list of open houses, taken from the Garden State Multiple Listing Service website and the AOL Real estate website. Please check those websites for updates and additions.
