The Ridge girls soccer team finished the regular season with a 11-4-2 mark, earning No. 3 seed for the upcoming North 2, Group IV state sectional tournament. Ridge will get set to face 14th seeded Elizabeth, who finished the season 4-9-1, in the first round on Monday. The boys soccer team will also attempt to earn a North 2, Group IV title when they face top-seed Bridgewater-Raritan on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Ridge finished the regular season 6-10-1, is seeded 16th. Field Hockey Advances in Tournament The Ridge girls field hockey team cruised past Hackensack, 6-1, according to NJ.com. Sam Brown had two goals and an assist and Madison Fischl added a goal and an assist to for Ridge (7-11-2) in a North 2, Group IV first round game. Girls Gymnastics Fall The Ridge girls gymnastics team fell to Scotch Plains, 105.15-98-15, according to NJ.com. Ridge is 3-8 this season.Coming Up: Girls tennis vs. Montgomery, Thursday at 7 p.m.

Two Ridge High teams competed on Thursday, but only one was able to secure a win as the girls tennis team improved to 10-3. Girls Tennis Moves to 10-3 The Ridge girls tennis team stopped Watchung Hills, 5-0, according to NJ.com. Ridge is 10-3 this season. Field Hockey Falls The Ridge girls field hockey team fell to Roxbury, 1-0, according to NJ.com. Marissa Taddeo stopped 11 shots for Ridge (6-10-1).
A good day in Ridge athletics saw both teams competing earn wins Monday: Girls Volleyball Earns Win No. 13 Amber Evans had a team-high 11 kills to help lead the Ridge girls volleyball team to a 2-0 win over Hunterdon Central, according to NJ.com. Maria Langas added 21 assits for Ridge (13-2). Girls Tennis Wins The Ridge girls tennis team stopped Hillsborough, 4-1, according to NJ.com.  Ridge is 9-3 this season.

Boys Soccer Stops Watchung Hills Brian Korn scored to lift the Ridge boys soccer team past Watchung Hills, 1-0, in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament, according to NJ.com. Nick Hale had an assist and goalie Kieran McCarthy stopped nine shots for Ridge (4-9-1). Girls Field Hockey Falls The Ridge girls field hockey team fell to Montgomery, 3-1, in a Somerset County Tournament quarterfinal matchup, according to NJ.com. Ridge is 5-8-1.
Two Ridge High teams competed on Friday, but neither were able to take home wins. Girls Volleyball Falls The Ridge girls volleyball team fell to North Hunterdon, 2-1, according to NJ.com. Taylor Robb had 13 service points and Maria Langas added a team high 15 assists for Ridge. Their season record is now 12-2, following a long stretch of being unbeaten. Ridge Football Falls The Ridge football team fell to 1-5 this season with a 48-16 loss at Hunterdon Central.

Only one Ridge High team competed on Monday, but the girls tennis team represented in a big way to earn its seventh win of the season. Girls Tennis Rolls Past Hunterdon Central The Ridge girls tennis team improved to 7-2 in 2011, with a 5-0 win over Hunterdon Central, according to NJ.com.
Four Ridge teams competed on Thursday, with just one of them earning a win. Girls Soccer Stops Rutgers Prep Goals from Elena Alves, Gigi Cifelli and Megan Gross helped the Ridge girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Rutgers Prep, according to NJ.com. Girls Soccer Moves to 7-3 The Ridge girls soccer team took home a 1-0 win over Piscataway (6-2-2) on Monday, moving its record to 7-3 this season, according to NJ.com. Alex Weyrauch scored the game-winner for Ridge off an assist from Stephanie Campo. Goalkeeper Rachel Axt recorded six saves in the win. Gymnastics Earns win Over Watchung Hills The Ridge gymnastics team moved to 2-4 this season as they stopped Watchung Hills (1-4), 101.15-95.675, according to NJ.com.
