Patch salutes veterans and looks at how they are being honored in our local communities.
Students in the Pride Club at the Liberty Corner Elementary School were busy even before school started on Thursday, Veterans Day, writing letters of appreciation to patients living at the Veterans Administration hospital in nearby Lyons. The letters were scheduled to be delivered later on Thursday. "Dear Veteran: Thank you for fighting for our country. You are awesome for doing that. I am always thinking of you," said one of 60 letters written by the second through fifth graders in the Pride Club.
