A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is the story of the fall of human kind, the promise of the Messiah, and the nativity of Jesus and features traditional readings, well-loved congregational Christmas carols and special carols sung by the choir under the direction of Dr. Brian Harlow.
This service follows the traditional format established by King’s College, Cambridge, England and broadcast by the BBC every Christmas Eve since 1928. The service has since been adapted and used by churches all over the world. This year's music includes pieces by Americans, William Billings, Brian Harlow; Englishmen Philip Ledger, Gustav Holst and John Rutter; and Estonian composer Avo Pärt.
