Ridge Senior Night Football Food Drive For Hurricane Sandy Families

The Ridge High School Red Devils, along with Watchung Hills, will host a food drive at the Senior Night game at Ridge to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The food drive will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The game with Watchung Hills Regional High School is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Lee Field. Senior Night was rescheduled following the storm.

WHAT TO BRING TO FOOD DRIVE:

CANNED FISH/MEAT-TUNA, SALMON, SPAM, CHICKEN, HAM

MILK- SHELF STABLE

BOXED MEALS - PASTA, POTATOES, CEREAL, RICE

CANNED/PACKAGED MEALS-MAC&CHEESE, CHILI, STEWS, MEATY SOUPS

PEANUT BUTTER - PLASTIC JARS ONLY

CANNED VEGGIES/FRUITS - ALL SIES AND KINDS

 

WHAT NOT TO BRING -

NO GLASS, CELLOPHANE, BOTTLED WATER, SODA, BABY FOOD

Ridge High School was one of three New Jersey high schools designated as a Blue Ribbon School in 2009 by the U.S. Department of Education for excellence in academic achievement.

Ridge High has 1,639 students and maintains a 14.4 student-to-teacher ratio. Fifty percent of students graduate with at least one passing grade in an Advanced Placement class according to a Newsweek report on the top schools in the U.S. Newsweek ranked Ridge as the 177th best school in the nation and third in New Jersey.

Ridge also has a wide variety of after-school sports programs and extracurricular activities—from a competitive football program to one of the state's best high school debate teams.
