BRIDGEWATER - NJ - The Somerset County Business Partnership is seeking qualified nominees for the 64th Annual Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award, Somerset County’s most significant individual recognition.

An email stating an “Intention to Nominate” a Somerset County citizen who has a history of community inspiration and leadership should be submitted to dsieberg@scbp.org by the end of business on Friday, January 24, 2014. The completed Nomination Form, available at www.scbp,org should be submitted by the close of business on Friday, January 31, 2014. Three (3) letters of support will be required to process the nomination. Nominations maybe submitted by individuals, businesses, or organizations and should include a complete description of services rendered.

 

The Business Partnership Citizen of the Year recognition is Somerset County's oldest and most prestigious award and one at which the community gathers to honor one very special person to recognize their leadership.

 

The recipient must be a Somerset County citizen who has done more than his/her part in making our community realize its “inherent potentialities.” Nominees need not be members of the Somerset County Business Partnership.

 

The selected recipient must have demonstrated leadership in improving the economic vitality of the community. Primary consideration will be given to an individual who has shown exemplary service (including volunteer work) to the local/county community in single or multiple initiatives. Service rewarded should be beyond that contained in the individual’s job description.

 

Nominees shall not be precluded from consideration based on their political affiliation, activity, candidacy or incumbency, providing that candidates are not selected or awarded during an election cycle.

 

The award will be presented at a dinner reception on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Bridgewater Marriott.

Walt Kavanaugh, Steve Kalafer, Rich Reitman, Bernie Navatto, John Graf, Jr., Robert Corcoran, Christine Rose, Jim Ventantonio, Dan Puntillo, Donald Bowers, Evelyn Field, Frank & Audrey Dittman, Adele & Leonard Blumberg, David Prugh, Arlyn Rus, Richard Shive and Dave D’Alonzo.
