Come and Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Curbing Hunger

June 2014 will mark the 20th Curbing Hunger food drive in Somerset County, NJ. 

A celebration dinner and art sale will be held Saturday, May 10, starting at 6 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Basking Ridge.  St. Mark’s is a founding sponsor of the annual food collection program. 

There will be food, drink and entertainment. There also will be beautiful works of art for sale.  All proceeds will go to the Curbing Hunger program.

Tickets are $50 per person. The deadline for reservations is May 3.  To purchase tickets online, visit www.curbinghunger.org and click on “20th Anniversary Celebration” at the top of the homepage. 

To purchase an advertisement in the event program, email Dawn Knill by May 3 at dkknill@hotmail.com  A full-page ad (5 by 8 inches) is $75; a half-page ad (5 by 4 inches) is $50; and a third-page ad (5 by 2 inches) is $30.

All proceeds from this evening will benefit Curbing Hunger, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  According to federal law, $15 of each ticket represents the fair market value of goods and services you will enjoy and is not tax deductible.

“We are excited to be celebrating 20 years of service to the community, collecting over 2.1 million pounds of food,” said Chuck Knill, board president of Curbing Hunger Inc.  “We also are thrilled to be expanding our campaign this year not only to a larger geographical area but also to include fresh foods.” 

"Somerset County has been proud to collaborate with Curbing Hunger to conduct this annual food drive that benefits so many people in our communities," said Somerset County Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione.  “On behalf of the Freeholder Board, I want to thank Curbing Hunger Inc., St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and the many other community supporters of this very successful program, as well as our recycling and public works crews who do the curbside food collections each June.”
