Cross Country Ski Trip has Limited Number of Openings

PARK COMMISSION ANNOUNCES LIMITED NUMBER OF OPENINGS REMAIN FOR 2014 ADIRONDACK MOUNTAIN

BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center Naturalists have announced that a limited number of openings remain for the 2014 Cross-Country Ski Trip to the Adirondack Mountains.

The trip to the six million acre Adirondack Forest Preserve is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2014 to Sunday, February 9, 2014.

The destination is Lapland Lake Cross Country Ski Center, located in the shadow of Cathead Mountain, amidst tall pines and hardwood forests.

 

Lapland Lake is one of the top rated touring centers with some of the most reliable snowfall in the East. The area has over 50km of trails, (38km are groomed and 12km remain ungroomed for snowshoers). Trails are available for everyone from beginner to expert.

 

The trip will include lodging for three nights, van transportation, meals, a lesson, trails fees, and guided natural history walks.  Also available for additional fees will be equipment rentals, ice-skating, advanced lessons, snow tubing, and massages.
