BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder of nature as winter begins to arrive Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.
CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
The Scoop on Poop
Tuesday, January 14 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children age infant to 5 with a parent will read a story about poop and go
on a scat search, learning about the different animals found in the
wild.
Fee is $10 per pair and $5 per additional child..

Art of Nature: Kids - NEW
Tuesday, January 14 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Children ages 4 to 6 will enjoy a hike to inspire the artist within before creating mobiles, collages, and rubbings to capture the beauty in nature.
Fee is $6 per person.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Nature Through A Child’s Eye
Now through Sunday, February 2 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M daily
except holidays
The entire family will enjoy the annual environment and nature art show featuring works from children from kindergarten through grade six in Somerset County schools.
Admission is free.
Adapt-Abilities
Sunday, January 19 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will learn about animal adaptations - why some have big ears; how they use their tails; and more
The program is free.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
