BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder and the beauty of nature as summer takes hold in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

CHILDREN, TEEN, & WITH PARENT PROGRAMS

 

Marshmullers

            Tuesday, July 30 thru Thursday, August 1 from 9:30 A.M. to                                        11:30 A.M.    

            Children age 4 to 6 will enjoy a three-day program focusing on the world

                        of plants and animals. Activities will include expeditions to the

                        fields, forests, and ponds and will include crafts, projects, games,

                        and stories.

            Fee is $40 per person

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS

 

KAN-U-KAYAK

            Sunday, August 4 from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.

            Prepare for EEC river trips with an introductory class on basic paddling                             techniques, safety, and handling a kayak in and out of the water.

            Fee is $25 person.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch

Park in Bridgewater.  The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
