BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder and the beauty of nature as autumn approaches in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.
Pre-registration is required for programs and may be done by calling 908-766-2489 or NJ Relay at 711 for individuals with a hearing or speech impairment. Registration is available online at www.somersetcountyparks.org.
CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Don’t Eat Me
Friday, September 13 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Children ages 4 to 6 will learn about the amazing adaptations that help
plants and animals defend themselves from predators.
Fee is $6 per person.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Dawn Patrol – NEW!
Saturday, September 14 from 6:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M.
Adults will enjoy a Naturalist-led morning hike through Lord Stirling Park to witness the beauty of wildlife at dawn. Expect to come across barred owls, fox, coyote, beavers, and more.
Fee is $10 per person.

Hawk Watch Hike
Sunday, September 15 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist to hike the trails of the Great Swamp with an eye out for migrating birds of prey.
Fee is $8 per person.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
