PSGCNJ retains Morristown legal-services nonprofit

BRIDGEWATER – PSGCNJ’s Board of Directors has retained the legal-services nonprofit Pro Bono Partnership for assistance with its pursuit of 501(c)3 tax-exempt status.

“As we continue to pursue tax-exempt status, our new relationship with Pro Bono Partnership will help us to better serve our professional and skilled-worker membership,” said PSGCNJ Executive Director Kenneth Hitchner. “It’s crucial that our organization be built for all future economic recessions. Our new legal-service agreement takes us one step closer toward our long-term goal.”

“We look forward to assisting PSGCNJ by providing legal support as it works to pursue its critical objectives,” said Nancy Eberhardt, Director of the Partnership’s New Jersey Program. ”Obtaining tax-exempt status is an important step for PSGCNJ to raise the funds it needs to continue its mission.”

About PSGCNJ

PSGCNJ is an independent employment community that puts unemployed professionals back to work through educational programs, networking, support, and employer-outreach services. Currently, the nonprofit is awaiting tax-exempt status from the federal government.

A recent study found that 54% of PSGCNJ’s “landed” members went back into the workforce in fewer than 26 weeks, which is about twice as fast as the rest of the United States, from June 30, 2008 through April 29, 2013.
