Bernards Health Department to Hold Last Flu Clinic of Year for Twp. and Member Towns

Last clinic of year by appointment only.

The Bernards Township Health Department has scheduled its last seasonal flu shot clinic for this year from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Bernards Township Health Department, 262 S. Finley Ave. in Basking Ridge.

The clinic is open to those four years old through adults. However, flu shots will be given by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, those seeking a flu shot should phone the Health Department at 908-204-2520.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone six months and older receives a flu shot. New Jersey law requires that children up to 59 months of age attending any licensed child-care center or pre-school facility, must receive at least one dose of influenza vaccine between September 1 and December 31 of each year.

The cost of the flu shot is $20 for residents of Bernards Township and member towns and $30 for non-residents. The shots also are available for no charge for those with a valid Medicare Part B card. Participants should consult with their doctor before receiving the flu vaccine. Clinical services are provided by the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills.
