Escape from Cooking on Christmas

Christmas is approaching, and we know that can mean lots of family and lots of cooking—but what if you don’t want to do all that cooking by yourself? Or perhaps your family celebrates Hanukkah. Well, we’ve got suggestions for several restaurants offering meals and deals for those who would prefer to dine out.

• , at the , will be open with chef’s holiday features on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Check the website to make reservations. 
• , on East Main Street in Bridgewater, will be open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Christmas Day.
• a Japanese restaurant at the Dewy Meadow Shopping Village in Basking Ridge, plans to be open from about 3 to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day. The restaurant's address is 413 King George Road, No. 774, and the phone number is 908-580-0666.
• another Japanese restaurant in Basking Ridge, also will be open that day. The restaurant, is at 11 Lyons Mall. The phone number is 908-766-6677.
• Another variation on Christmas goose will be offered by , at 66 S. Finley Ave., also in the Lyons Mall in Basking Ridge. The restaurant, which could close a little earlier than its usual 10 p.m. closing time if no one is there late on Christmas, an employee said. The phone number is 908-953-2900.

• Silk Road Afghan and Mediterranean Restaurant, at 41 Mountain Blvd., will be open for normal hours through the Christmas weekend, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
