Even Favorite Dog Breeds Up for Adoption

Even some of the writer's favorite dog breeds, dachshunds, beagles and Tibetan Terriers, are available for adoption from area rescue groups.

When it comes to dogs, we all have a favored breed. Maybe you're drawn by the appearance, or the helpfulness of your best friends—or maybe you just like the personalities some breeds seem to always have.

I've had three dogs in my life, a Dachshund as a child, a Beagle who entertains me now, and I once adopted a Tibetan Terrier, a wonderful pet that looked like a miniature sheepdog.

Tibetans are a fairly rare breed—but if you're interested in getting one, you're in luck: the Tibetan Terrier Club of America Rescue is based in Scoth Plains and can help you find a new best friend. Send an email to rescue@ttca-online.org for more information.
