Strong Dogs, Pro Wrestling in Upcoming Events

This weekend has some things going on that don't happen every day in these parts.

Along with the Somerset Hills YMCA's Strong Dogs Day, there is the return of Pro Wrestling to Long Hill Township, sponsored by the Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations as a benefit.

There's also a hint of Halloween already — in fact, the Somerset Patriots are having their "Halloween Night" this weekend. And learn about the paranormal at the Bridgewater Township Library.

Strong Dogs Day
When/Where: Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Somerset Hills YMCA's main facility at 140 Mount Airy Road, Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Dogs and their human companions are welcome for a day that is due to be both informative and filled with activities. The day will kick off with a blessing of the hounds, followed by a dog wash, obstacle course, pet grooming and special activities for the entire family. Many local vendors, kennels, and groomers are scheduled to attend.
Cost: Free, or $5 for fundraising "paws."

Pro Wrestling
When/Where: Friday at 7:30 p.m. at 264 Warren Ave., the Stirling section of Long Hill Township.
Why Go: WWE TV Legend, Brutus The Barber Beefcake, wrestling in a "Loser gets a Haircut Match." Former Stars, WWE Champion Tommy Dreamer along with WWE The Patriot, WWE Sal Sincere, ECW Danny Dourning are all on the card for an evening of great pro wrestling. Event is sponsored by — and benefits local causes through — the Long Hill PBA, The Bernards Twp.
