Fun, Action-Packed Basketball For a Good Cause

The Harlem Wizards come to Somerset County this weekend to take on the local Ridge hoopsters.

Fun, action-filled basketball is coming to Somerset County this weekend in the form of the Harlem Wizards. If you haven't checked out the team and the fun time that is sure to follow, now is your chance. We also have plenty of other choices of activities for this weekend. A special family-friendly section is included under the "Grab & Go" heading.

The Harlem Wizards
Where/When:
; Sunday 2-4 p.m.
Why Go: The Wizards will be taking on the Ridge Red Devils for a good cause. The event is put on by the Bernards PEC and Hope Autism Foundation in honor of April, Autism Awareness Month. Proceeds from this event will benefit the special needs community in Bernards Township.
Pricing: $10 advanced tickets, $15 at the door.

Marianne and Tom Thatcher, Music and Stories of the Civil War
Where/When: 
 Basking Ridge, Sunday, 2 p.m. 
Why Go: Period entertainment from Pennsylvania couple for the Bernards Township Farmstead Arts' monthly concert series held the first Sunday each month.
Pricing: $20 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. Order tickets online.

Snow White and Beauty & the Beast
Where/When:
Millstone Township Performing Arts Center; Sunday, 2 p.m. 
Why Go: It's two for the price of one, as The Ballet Company of the Performing Arts Ensemble presents the production.
Pricing: From $15 to $22 for adults, $2 discount for children and seniors.

Classic Car Show & Flea Market
Where/When:
Somerset County Vocational & Technical School; Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Why Go:
As spring thaws the ground, it's always fun to see some classic cars and walk through to see what treasures may be available at a flea market. Proceeds will be used to benefit students at SCVTHS. The event will be in the lot of the school located at 14 Vogt Drive in Bridgewater.

Free to attend

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat
Where/When: Somerset Valley Theatre; Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: A production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's show will be presented by the Somerset Valley Players, so you can see a hit nearby.
Pricing: $20 for adult, $18 for seniors and students


Where/When:
Harlingen Church (Belle Mead); Saturday, 7 p.m.
Why Go:
A traditional country western show with great home cooking for a great cause. Don't worry, there will be chili. Help save the barn.
Pricing: 
$15 for concert; $7 for refreshments

Grab and Go–Great things for the Family


Where/When:
Hillsborough Public Library; Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go:
A special "rain" themed storytime for children ages 2 to 6.

Where/When:
Duke Island Park (Bridgewater); Sunday, 9:30 a.m.
Why Go:
Learn how to fix your own flat or get interested in the exciting world of bicycle racing.

Bridewater Commons Mall; Friday, 2-6 p.m.
Why Go:
Hop over and make an Easter basket and meet the Easter Bunny. Photos will also be available.

The kids will enjoy gymnastics and games with friends while the adults get to find time for a parents' night out.
