Get Ready for Winter with Snow-Loving Dogs

Huskies and St. Bernards would even love snowstorms in October — and you could love these great dogs.

Legend has it many people have been saved from frozen Alpine deaths by St. Bernards, a breed actually bred for that purpose. With the early snow arriving this year, you might want to consider gaining an advantage over winter by adopting a St. Bernard, or another snow-loving breed, the husky.

While we only found one St. Bernard available for adoption in the area, there are several Huskies and Husky-mixed dogs you can adopt.

Contact the rescue groups below for more information about the featured dogs—or for information on other pets they may have available for adoption.
