Junior Golfers Ready For Sixth Annual Junior Open At Basking Ridge Country Club

by Samantha Meighan

Boys and girls across the state are preparing for the 2014 New Jersey PGA Junior Open Championship, Monday and Tuesday, July 7-8, which will be hosted for the sixth season at Basking Ridge Country Club.  The event is popular and last year sold out with more than 120 players signed up to play in this Two-Day junior golf event.

Thanks to the support from the staff and members at Basking Ridge Country Club, this event continues to be a highlight on the New Jersey PGA Junior Tour.  The Junior Open has always received regional attention but recently the AJGA recognized the event as a top multiple day tournament in the Metropolitan area, rewarding the winning boy with a Performance Based Exemption star.

2013 Players of the Year include John Pak, Scotch Plains (Boys 11-15), Nicholas Rencis, Long Valley (Boys 16-18) and Christina Parsells, Bernardsville (Girls 16-8) and Ami Gianchandani, Short Hills (Girls 16-18)
