Offices Reopen, Snow Cleanup Begins

Library, municipal offices, have delayed opening, but area schools closed for the day.

Bernards Township municipal offices and the Bernards Township Library were due to reopen at 10:30 a.m. on the Friday following Thursday night's snowstorm. Somerset County offices are reopened as of 10 a.m., according to information from the county.

However, schools in Bernards Township, Bedminster and in the Somerset Hills School district already had called a snow day for Friday as of Thursday night.

The Bernardsville Public Library was closed for the day, and all programs are canceled, according to the website. Bernardsville municipal offices were closed.

Main road clear before noon

The main roads throughout Bernards Township were for the most part clear of snow before noon, said Police Lt. Ted Reese.  Side streets still snow were covered but improving steadily at that time.

Reese added that only a few minor motor vehicle accidents had been reported in the snow.
