Pleasant Valley Piranhas Open Their Swim Season With Meet Against Bernardsville

The Pleasant Valley Piranhas opened their swim season with their first meet against Bernardsville on Saturday, June 28. 

After just one week of practice the piranhas walked away victorious with a win of 297 to 146 which makes this their second win in 20 years.

This is a testament to the hard work of the swimmers throughout the the first week and the dedicated coaching staff who the first people at the pool and the very last to leave after practice.     

The swim team is lead by Head Coach Tyler Gibbons who will be a junior at Columbia in his 5th year on the coaching staff, Assistant Coach, Sarah Spring who will be a freshman at Lehigh in her 3rd year on coaching staff, Assistant Coach, Jackson Crewe who will be a senior at Ridge in his 2nd year on coaching staff and Jr. Assistant Coach Colleen Wachenfeld who will be a Sophmore at Ridge in her 1st year on the coaching staff.

This year the Piranhas have 162 on regular team and 33 on the pre-team with a total of 195 and is the largest group to date. 

The swimmers gathered around the pool to cheer on their teams with much excitement with this being the first meet of the season.

8 and Under - 

1st place: Chloe Moss, Charlie Paul, Ian D'Silva
2nd place: Dean Capizzi, Ezster Kiss, Ellie Bozzo, Charlie Paul
3rd place: Brice Pruskowski, Caroline Hand, Dean Capizzi

9/10-

1st place: Sophie Paul, Alexandra Timoney, Jack Santonastaso
2nd place: Mia Capizzi, Jake Fern, Madeleine Soultanian
3rd place: Mia Capizzi, Ryan Mannino, Jack Santonastaso

11/12 - 
  • 1st place: Grace Sedlazek, Madeleine West, Ayla D'Silva
