Public Document Shred Day to Raise Funds for Basking Ridge Fire & First Aid

Second annual Basking Ridge Fire Co. shred day helps area residents get rid of mail and documents with personal information.

The Basking Ridge Fire Co. and First Aid Squad will hold the all-volunteer organization's second annual Shred Day for personal documents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 4, at the Basking Ridge Firehouse at 30 Washington Ave.

Any donations would be kindly accepted.

Can there ever be too many Shred Days? Not as long as there is junk mail with personal information within, and also documents that could risk identity theft by being discarded or recycled.

This Saturday, Cintas Document Management of Bridgewater, which donated the truck with shredding capacity last year, again will pitch in to assist the fundraiser.

Volunteers from the fire company and first aid squad will donate their time and elbow grease at the shredding operation.
