Somerset Hills YMCA to Hold Open House This Sunday

Free classes and activities to be offered for community to explore on Sunday at both main Basking Ridge facility and Riverwalk.

Anyone who's ever wanted to try out or take a closer look at some of the programs and facilities at the Somerset Hills YMCA will have an opportunity this Sunday.

The YMCA is hosting an free open house for potential members from 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 at both the main YMCA facility at 140 Mount Airy Road and at the smaller Riverwalk location at 665 Martinsville Road and at 140 Mount Airy Road. The open house is open to everybody in the community.

A variety of free classes will be offered at both locations, according to a news release from the YMCA.

Those who stop by Riverwalk can sample classes offered for Zumba, Yogalates, Pilates, Kids Yoga, Senior Yoga and Full Body Kinesis. The Mount Airy Road location will offer free dance classes for kids, kinesis classes and group exercise classes will be offered. There will also be a strength training circuit set up. The pools and water slides will be open, as well as the rock climbing wall. Visitors are encouraged to check the YMCA's website for a full schedule.

Raffles also also be held every hour for many prizes, including 10 personal training sessions worth $600, according to the YMCA. Guests are encouraged to check in at the welcome center on arrival in order to be entered into the raffles.

“This is a great opportunity for people in the community to come and find out what the Y is all about,” said Sue Diebold, the Somerset Hills YMCA's Director of Wellness .

“Yes, we do have a fantastic facility here, but we really run much deeper than that," Diebold said. "We offer all kinds of support programs for youth, teens, families and active older adults that help you grow in spirit, mind and body.”
