Ridge High School's 'Legally Blonde — The Musical,' Starts Musical Weekend

Ridge's production of 'Legally Blonde' this Friday and Saturday, ragtime trio at library and Battle of Bands in Bedminster.

This week is filled with lots of music and some games to pass the time, including the Ridge High School drama club's annual spring musical, "Legally Blonde — The Musical."

The Bernards Township Library is hosting a ragtime trio on Saturday. Pick up your free tickets ahead at the library on South Maple Avenue in downtown Basking Ridge.

"Legally Blonde — The Musical"
When/Where:
 Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Ridge High School, 268 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. 
Why Go:
 Support the Ridge drama club and laugh out loud as Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by pink storm in this fun, upbeat musical about self-discovery. Based on the movie, "Legally Blonde: The Musical," stays true to form with a peppy score and playful book. This musical is described as "ridiculously enjoyable from start to finish."
Cost:
 Tickets, $16 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, order tickets through www.ridgepac.com.

Battle of the Bands
When/Where:
Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster.
Why Go:
Because who doesn’t love some local music? Bands from Bernards, Bridgewater and Newark will be performing, all vying for a $100 gift card to the Guitar Center.
Cost:
Free.

City Winds Trio: Ragtime
When/Where:
Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Bernards Township Library, 32 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge.
Why Go:
Live music at the library! City Winds Trio will be playing music composed by the King of Ragtime, Scott Joplin. Hear live music, and learn about conducting, tempos and dynamics through movement.
Cost: Pick up free tickets ahead at the children's library desk.

Mah Jongg Tournament
When/Where:
Sunday at 8:45 a.m. at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater.
Why Go:
Because you can spend time with friends, play some Mah Jongg and hopefully win some prizes.
Cost:
$50.

Chamber Music Orchestra Rehearsals
When/Where:
Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Mi La’s Debut School of Music on Route 22 in Green Brook.
Why Go:
Anyone who has played a string instrument for three or more years is welcome to join in on the rehearsals.
Cost:
Free.

Life by Chocolate: The Sweet Story of Antioxidants
When/Where:
Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at room B in the Bernards Township Library, 32 S. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.
Why Go:
The Bernards Township Health Department's Cheryl Komline, M.S., R.D., and public health nutritionist, will give you more reasons to eat chocolate by reviewing the health benefits of chocolate. and the differences between milk, extra dark, and everything in between. Tastings will be available!
Cost: Free. Please try to pre-register to make sure enough chocolate is available for samples at 908-204-3031, ext. 116, or show up.
